Thanks to everyone who came out to the Settlers tournament on Saturday! You guys helped us raise over $400 for our trip! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! And Congratulations to the winners!
1st Place: Jon Elmer
2nd Place: Ward Bickford
3rd Place: Kim Anderson
4th Place: Cressel Anderson
Also, thanks to the generousity of Susan Combs & Brian Varcak, we were able to purchase nearly all of our remaining supplies from REI’s latest Scratch ‘n Dent sale! Thanks Brian & Susan!!!
We now have less than one month left in-country and we’re right on track. We have met somewhere around 90-95% of our initial goal thanks to all of you!! As we complete the physical preparations for our trip, please pray that we will be able to meet the remaining 5-10% of our fundraising goal.
Wes’ Samoan is far beyond mine at this point, but now that the big fundraisers are over I can devote more time and energy to learning the language. I’m also trying to read as much as I can about TEFL and teaching in another country. If you have any advice, or want to share an article/book you’ve read, let me know! I’m trying not to be nervous about orientation and the teaching practicum–it seems like some enormously terrifying oral presentation to me–so the more I can research now the less freaked out I’ll be in AmSam.
There’s a chance that we will receive our placement by the end of this month (it all depends on the DoE and when the schools get back to WT), so hopefully we can let you know soon where we’ll be for the next year. :)
Also, I plan to close my etsy store the first week of July; if you know anyone who may be interested in making a purchase, please send them the link!
Thanks again for all of your help and support!
ok, if you ever come to Tutuila and you have your Settler’s game with you, let’s get together!!!!! I am an obsessed fanatic.
