What’s new

We’ve been pretty busy this month. In early February we officially confirmed our participation and paid the first two deposits to WorldTeach. We’ve also been (slowly) packing the house and moving stuff into storage, and we’re pretty sure we’ve found a renter (well, we’ve found a couple who really wants to rent the house–nothing has been finalized yet).

In March, we’ll be holding an online auction (on Ebay) as part of our fundraising. I’ll post a link as soon as it’s up. (If you’d like to donate an item to the auction, please email me for our mailing address.)

We are also planning a Settlers of Catan tournament that I’m really excited about! We will be holding the tournament in April or May. I’ll post details (date, location, prizes, etc) as they become available.

So far we have received some very generous donations and I wanted to publicly thank those of you who have already gone above and beyond to support us!

THANK YOU
Dr. Martha Bowden
Mr. John Moore
Paul Patrick Pierson at servants aid
Jeremiah & Jessica Drysdale
Larry & Cathy Shuler
Steve & Jill Burnett

We’ve also received some awesome donations for our upcoming auction from
Jacky Damon of AppleJaxie Creations
Artist Eric Poland
and the extraordinary Emily Keesee

We still need to raise about $7,000 so I hope you will help us spread the word about the upcoming fundraisers. Please feel free to link to this blog anywhere you have an online presence!

You guys are incredible and we are so thankful for all the support and encouragement we’ve received.

About Cat Q.

For three years, I lived on a tiny little island in the South Pacific called Ta'u, where I taught elementary and high school English. Much of this blog is a chronicle of my time there, and of the travels we were able to do while we were on that side of the world. Now, I'm doing a different kind of travelling in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. I graduated with a B.A. in English and a history minor from Kennesaw State University in 2010, and earned an advanced certificate in TEFL while teaching abroad in 2012. I love Jesus and enjoy knitting, Atlanta Falcons football, and spending time alone with my Kindle. I've been married for 10 years to a beautiful bearded man who makes me laugh like no other. The Beard occasionally blogs over here: http://www.leapfromthelionshead.wordpress.com
